SAF – NORTH is a division of Shout Africa Foundation (a public health non-profit) which works to protect and empower women in deprived communities in Africa. This initiative is led by Mrs Zainab Alhassan who is a health worker at the Tamale West Hospital in Tamale, the Northern part of Ghana. She is supported by a team of volunteers from diverse backgrounds who work fiercely to protect the rights of women and children in the Northern parts of Ghana.
We believe in empowering girls and women in the Northern regions of Ghana through advocacy and outreach programs to educate against Sexual and Gender Based Violence. This is done through information and resources to improve their health and social well-being in their local communities.
Our vision is to build communities in the northern regions where every woman enjoys the economic, social, and cultural right to a universal minimum standard of health and to live free of violence and abuse. A vision to promote health and, the social and economic inclusion of women in our communities. To build communities where women are healthy, respected and protected against violence. It is our mission to promote health subjects under sexual and gender based violence such as Sexual and Reproductive Health in women, Maternity health in women and to speak against topics like Sexual and Gender Based Violence against women.
